Haldia , a riverine port amidst the most proliferating industrial zone of the State, is located approximately 125 km south west of Calcutta near the confluence of the Hooghly River. Haldia Institute of Technology is strategically located at the heart of the port city of Haldia, the busiest industrial hub of eastern India. The Haldia city is bordered by the Haldi River, a distributary of the  River Ganga. It is the home of manufacturing industrial giants such as IOCL, HPL, Exide Industries, Mitshubishi Chemicals, Dhunseri Petrochem, TCL, Hindustan Unilever, Adani Wilmar and many others.

    ii) Mecheda station to Haldia
    (by Road) 56 kms (1 hr 15 mnts)

    Howrah to Haldia (EMU) : 6:10, 18:10. (2 hr 30 mnts journey)
Route 2
  • Bus from Esplanade to Raychak, then take Jetty to cross Hoogly river, and then another Bus or car to Ranichak bus stop (Total 3 hr journey)
